Dan Borchers, CPF

Owner, Certified Picture Framer

Dan’s introduction to custom framing began as an apprentice under his father, from whom he inherited a love of design and natural skill as a craftsman. Dan earned his BS in Management Information Systems (MIS) at Central Michigan University and CPF certification before returning to the family business. He took over as owner in 1994.

Dan attends trade shows and seminars across the country, and has traveled to Italy to train under a master of art and frame restoration. He especially enjoys the personal relationships with FMS customers and the stories behind the projects they bring to the shop. In his spare time, Dan enjoys traveling, working out, gardening, and walking the Grand Haven beach with his wife, Mary.

Penny Pattison

Custom Picture Framer

Penny is a proud Frame and Mat shop alumna! Soon after joining our team some 30 years ago, she knew that picture framing was a great fit for her creative skill set. She would move on to develop other talents apprenticing as an art and frame restorer and working as a welder and fabricator. But today, she is happily back on board as one of our experienced framing professionals.

Penny studied visual art and communication at Parkland college in Champaign, IL. Penny’s lifelong hobby of oil painting continues in her home studio and her work is available In our gallery. She also enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her husband and two dogs.

Rayna Dielmann

Custom Picture Framer

Rayna joined us in 2024. Originally from Colorado, she has recently put down new roots in West Michigan. She has a background in photography and management, and brings a can-do spirit to our team.

Rayna has been active in the “art world” for some time now, finding herself involved in many mediums and practice adventures ranging from painting murals, teaching workshops, and photographing star figures such as the POTUS and olympians. Rayna has studied painting during an art residency in Ireland and obtained a BA in Studio Art from The University of Wyoming. Her most recent venture has brought her to The Frame & Mat Shop, where she brings her past creative experiences to help you frame your prized possessions.

Outside of her creative pursuits, she enjoys any and all things that involve the outdoors. Hiking, camping, you name it!

Hannah Jousma

Custom Picture Framer

Hannah is our newest team member as of 2025. She brings with her three years of custom picture framing experience and a visual arts background. She has studied fine arts at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), has published many works in GRCC’s Display Magazine, illustrated children’s books, and also works as a freelance portrait artist.

Hannah experiments with all kinds of artistic media, ranging from graphite and charcoal to pastels and paint, not to mention photography and digital art. Even her photography subjects vary, from little birds to the vast cosmos. She has a love of learning new crafts as well, such as crochet and ceramics.

Hannah also loves to spend time with her husband, whether they are playing video games inside or enjoying the outdoors with their two quirky dogs.

OiLin Jaeger

Custom Picture Framer

OiLin joined the Frame and Mat Shop in 2014. She loves art, and studied it passionately in high school and college. OiLin also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University. OiLin’s intuition in bringing together complementary design elements makes her both a valuable team member and a talented photographer.

Her passion for travel and nature photography has led her around the world: she has shot everything from lions in Africa to polar bears in Canada, and recently put on a solo show titled, “Inside a Chinese Village”.
